I) Full membership shall be open to all Zanzibari living in
the United States of America, who commit themselves to abide by the ZANAMA
constitution and subscribe to ZANAMA's  mission
statement.


II) Associate membership shall be open to all persons who,
not being Zanzibari or of Zanzibari descent, are friends of Zanzibar and promise
to abide by the ZANAMA constitution and
subscribe to ZANAMA's mission statement. Such members shall not be eligible to 
contest for an elected office or Vote.


III) A prospective member shall become a member upon
signing the ZANAMA membership agreement form, which will occasionally be
circulated on the Internet, or upon sending a request to be a member.


IV) An active member of the organization shall be one who:


   a) Attends the meetings of the ZANAMA
regularly or participates in ZANAMA debates and affairs.


   b) Avails himself/herself to serve in
different capacities as may become necessary.


   c) Has paid annual membership
fees required under this Article


   


   d) Membership fees shall be assessed and paid as may be
required by the Executive Board. Such fees shall be set forth in Fee Schedule A,
which may be published and modified on a regular basis at the discretion of the
Executive Board. It shall be provided, however, that members deliberate on
proposed membership fee increments, and that no membership fee increase may take
effect before the first day of the next fiscal year from the date of the
proposed increase.


  e) Any other fees which might become necessary or
due for the purpose of 

 running of the organization  as the
executive Committee may propose and direct .
